Stephen’s journey at Entain began over 16 years ago as a weekend Shop Assistant in his local Coral, now he leads a team in his role as Head of Operational Compliance. Today, he supports customers and ensures they’re playing safely and within their means, a critical role in our commitment to safer betting and gaming.
From Shop Assistant to Senior Leadership
Throughout my career, I've spent time in various positions, including two years as a Shop Assistant, seven as an Area Manager, five as Head of Productivity and now two as Head of Operational Compliance! Having insight into many different parts of our organisation have shaped me into the leader I am today.
I loved the buzz of working in the betting shops and the company I joined years ago now stands as a leading player in the industry. The business has changed not just in size but in the way we operate, innovate and serve our customers. I’ve loved being a part of the journey.
Career Development
Entain has been instrumental in my career progression, offering various resources aimed at retaining talent. From trainee area manager programmes to senior leadership initiatives, these opportunities have equipped me with the skills needed to succeed in my roles. A programme hosted by Sporting Edge stands out particularly for its focus on cultivating a winning mentality and its impact in both sport and business.
Outside of my day-to-day responsibilities, I take pride in my involvement with the neurodiversity group. As the senior sponsor, I'm passionate about championing individuality and uniqueness. Being a person with ADHD, I understand the importance of embracing diverse perspectives where everyone feels valued and understood.

Looking ahead to 2024
Last year I became a father, and I can only describe the experience as magical. I’m truly blessed to have the most loving, adventurous and adorable little girl in the world. I’m looking forward to watching her grow up into a little person...(just not too fast!)
