Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience, within a FTSE 100-listed global organisation, in both building surveying and property management, with opportunities to learn about planned and reactive maintenance scheduling, tenant management, property condition assessments and refurbishment projects.

As an Apprentice Building Surveyor, with a focus on residential properties, you will primarily support the Senior Residential Property Manager in managing a portfolio of residential flats linked to our UK-wide Retail Estate. Your role will involve assisting with residential flat inspections, coordinating maintenance issues and providing general support for ongoing property management activities.

This is a five-year programme depending on your entry level, that provides an accredited route to becoming a fully-qualified Chartered Building Surveyor. The programme will combine work-based learning, formal training and optimum support from an experienced team. The apprenticeship is run in partnership with UBE (University of the Built Environment), an online university with no campus attendance. Whilst on programme, Entain will dedicate one day of your working week for training or studying.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Property Inspections: Conducting routine and ad-hoc inspections to assess condition, identify maintenance issues/defects and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and building regulations.
  • Maintenance Management: Supporting in managing and coordinating maintenance works for residential flats, including liaising with contractors, specifying repairs and monitoring the progress of maintenance tasks and projects.
  • Survey Data Collection: Assisting in collecting and recording survey data for property condition reports, maintenance assessments and asset management.
  • Stakeholder Management: Communicating with tenants and contractors regarding maintenance concerns, ensuring that issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner.
  • Project Support: Managing renovation works or improvements in residential flats, supporting the Senior Residential Property Manager in overseeing project timelines and budgets.
  • Building Compliance: Assisting with ensuring that all residential properties under management adhere to health and safety regulations and other legal requirements.
  • Documentation & Administration: Maintaining accurate records of inspections, maintenance requests and completed works for residential properties. Providing administrative support to the Senior Residential Property Manager as required.

 

Qualifications

  • Applicants must be 18 years or older as of 1st September 2026 to be eligible for this scheme.
  • GCSE English and Maths Level 4 (Grade C) or above is a mandatory requirement.
  • Achieved or expected 3 A-Levels in any subject at grade BBC (or equivalent).

Our Degree Apprenticeship requires a minimum of 96 UCAS points. The 5-year training programme (Level 6 Apprentice) entails a part-time undergraduate degree apprenticeship which you will study for 4 years. As part of the 4-year apprenticeship you will work towards your APC in the latter 2 years leading to a MRICS qualification. Sitting your APC is an additional 6 months over the 4 years. Full on the job training will be provided for all skills required.
