We know that your expertise and experience is unique to you, so we aren’t offering a one-size-fits-all approach. We’ll be guided by your career to date when looking for the perfect placement opportunity – because your return to work should work for you.

Who can apply?

We're seeking candidates who meet the following minimum criteria:

  • That you currently have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the internship, or that you can secure the right to work in the UK in readiness to commence the internship in May 2023
  • At least 3 months unemployed, underemployed or reskilling
  • At least 2 years prior professional experience
  • STEM focussed qualifications & experience or a demonstrable passion for tech, data or engineering

How you'll be compensated will reflect the experience you'll bring and we'll ask about your most recent relevant salary within your application.

The returnship scheme will be based in the Greater London (UK) area and commence on Monday 22nd May 2023.

On our programme, you’ll be supported by a 1-to-1 transitional coach specialising in return to work, as well as a workplace buddy and mentor to help you navigate the business.

Our Placements

As part of the team, you will be open to new opportunities alongside the latest technology from our partners. You will work across the whole team ensuring communications, brand activations and technical integrations remain authentic with involvement in both technical and commercial projects. You will be profiling new technical categories and will work closely with the Partnership development team to build out new strategies, oversee integration work and support in the sales process. 

We’re looking for experience in business applications, data usage and management. The ability to liaise between departments and partners, while working with a wide range of stakeholders and collaborating within your team would be desirable. It would be preferred if you have experience in software development companies or have a background as a Business Analyst, Product Owner or Product Manager. We are also interested in candidates who have experience of coding in Java, Python, C++ and SQL. 

This role involves investigating new equipment, and processes, to refining existing production methods to improve quality, capacity or to reduce cost. Some key tasks include lightweight design in metal and carbon fibre composites, structural optimisation of components and utilising additive manufacturing. It would be beneficial if you have experience of CAD systems, a background in engineering and an understanding of manufacturing components. 

This role involves creative designing and engineering to develop detailed designs of components and assemblies as required. You will engage with other technical groups including suppliers and translating their requirements into system specifications. A background in Mechanical Engineering would be useful and proficiency in CATIA V5 or 3DEXPERIENCE.

Our Test Engineers work as part of a scrum team to ensure a consistent and high level of software quality. You’ll develop, maintain and extend the automated and manual software test suites. You’ll evaluate the results, troubleshoot and fix failed tests, whilst maintaining clear communications to key stakeholders.

Experience we need includes previously working in software quality assurance and having tested both web and mobile applications.

Great if you are also familiar with formal modelling methodologies, Behaviour Driven Development (BDD), Quick Test Professional, Test Complete, Selenium, SpecFlow, scripting or programming in C#, SQL.

Our Data Scientists are curious about how to discover and monetise information hidden in our data sets. You’ll drive smarter decision making to better serve our customers and grow our products. You’ll work on novel machine learning problems, with a modern and evolving technology stack, finding the right answers to key initiatives.

Experience we need includes the application of data science in a CRM or commercial setting, working with large data sets to detect trends and patterns, developing testable experiments, experience in Python, SQL and key concepts in version control.

Great if you are also familiar with the e-gaming industry, optimisation problems and practical solutions, working in Airflow and Docker development tools, causal inference techniques (i.e. attribution, uplift modelling), GA sessions, A/B testing techniques and prototyping.

Our Quant Analysts deal with complex questions within a team of highly skilled mathematicians. You’ll drive improvements in the mathematical models used in our products, directly impacting our company's results. You’ll work with our trading and product teams to understand requirements for trading and risk management tools.

Experience we need includes a university degree in mathematics or applied mathematics (i.e. statistics, control theory, theoretical physics), programming skills on R or other statistical software, use of Git and software development tools such as Visual Studio and applying machine learning techniques to derive models.

Great if you have also previously worked with quantitative finance modelling or been exposed to a trading department where modelling or quant data research has been practised, Mathematica platform, and software development best practise with CI/CD.

Our Infrastructure Engineers implement all changes to the physical and virtual infrastructure estate. Working alongside architecture colleagues, application developers, operational teams and compliance, you’ll implement changes in line with industry best practice and company design principles to deliver high quality, resilient and supportable infrastructure. You’ll support project teams to assess and design technical solutions, covering scope, deliverables, costs, timelines and risks.

Experience we need includes supporting or managing large scale infrastructure services, such as hosting and cloud services, understanding of infrastructure in the context of highly available, web based, transactional applications.

Great if you have also previously worked with Virtualization (VMware / Open stack), Cloud (AWS, Akamai), Containers (Docker), Software Defined (Automation and Orchestration), Windows and Linux based platforms, and have an understanding of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principles.

Our System Engineering team look after our Microsoft focused IT infrastructure, which is the foundation of our products. You’ll work with the latest hardware and software technologies to improve stability, performance and functionality. You’ll help us deploy and maintain our rapidly growing infrastructure with a focus on virtualization. You’ll be supporting deployments, expansions, regular maintenance and problem resolution.

Experience we need includes good knowledge in Microsoft Windows Operating systems, Windows Failover Clustering, Microsoft Active Directory and DNS, System Center products, scripting technologies (Powershell).

Great if you also have experience with Microsoft SQL server and an understanding of ITIL processes.

As a Software Engineer, you will be contributing to a variety of software solutions in areas including data analysis, programme languages, technologies and simulation. You will be involved in all stages of the development cycle, from requirements analysis through to development and deployment.

Great if you are also familiar with agile / lean methodologies.  

You may also have a BSc in Computer Science or similar, but this is not a prerequisite. 

As a UX Designer you’ll research and design user interfaces based on UX principles, business requirements and user research. You’ll create user journeys, wireframes and mock ups, advocating great customer experience throughout. You’ll create mock flows for mobile, tablet and web, presenting to, and working with, UI designers and product managers.

Experience we need includes prior UX experience, knowledge of design software tools (Axure, Balsamiq, Invisionapp, Adobe Creative Suite, Zeolin), formal education in design, technology, UX, human factors, human computer interactions or similar.

Great if you also have experience of creating use case scenarios and of managing projects with multiple streams of work.

Our BI Developers transform raw data into meaningful insights via interactive and user-friendly dashboards. You’ll work as part of a team of analysts and data engineers driving high profile strategic and operational initiatives, shaping short-term and long-term business decisions.

Experience we need includes use of interactive data visualisation software like Power BI and Tableau, use of SQL and programming languages such as python, excellent Excel skills (including VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables).

Great if you are also familiar with eGaming KPIs and terminology.

Our Backend Developers build reusable code, components and libraries for future use with excellent code quality, from unit testing to quality assurance within a service architecture. You’ll work within different platform services to build out new features or improve existing features. You’ll optimise application for maximum speed and scalability, whilst collaborating with other team members and stakeholders.

Experience we need includes backend application design and implementation, experience in modern PHP, knowledge of testing strategies, common course control and deployment (Git, Jenkins, Codeship, Docker).

Great if you also have knowledge about one or more modern backend programming languages such as Rust, have used container technologies, CI/CD practices and Mysql databases.

As a .NET Developer you will work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts and other Developers within the company to build the next generation of products. You’ll apply state of the art software design to ensure high availability, scalability, maintainability, and performance on high-traffic web applications.

Experience we need includes knowledge of TDD and DDD approaches, an understanding of OOP, software design skills and web technologies, a good understanding of async programming (synchronization primitives, async/await, tasks cancellation, synchronization context), C#, .net, .net core, Asp.net Core, REST, SOAP, ADO.NET, BCL, LINQ, Rx, MS VisualStudio, ReSharper, IIS, MS SQL. Experience with Messaging solutions (TIBCO, Kafka, RabbitMQ or other) and mocking frameworks (Git, NuGet, Moq, nUnit).
