5 Tips to Pass the Assessment Centre
So you’ve applied for the job and you’ve got a call back. Great!
But first you’ll have to tackle the assessment centre. Now, don’t panic. It’s not as painful as it sounds and they won’t even ask you to spell the word ‘assessment’! But it is a very important part of the interview process because it's the first time you’ll make direct contact with the hiring manager.
If you nail these, you’ll be brimming with confidence and could actually look forward to it!
1. Dress Smartly!
Duh! Of course, you will. But although we want our staff at our shops to work in a relaxed and pleasant environment, it’s easy to forget that in this case, you will be meeting the Hiring Managers! So it’s worth looking the part, smart should do the trick.
2. Bring your right to work!
Remember to print out the email you received as that will have all your details listed. We want to interview the right person!
3. Do your homework!
Again, you’d think this is a no-brainer but make sure to tick it off. Find out as much as possible about the company and our products. Why not visit a shop and speak to our staff? Because that could soon be you!
4. Show your personality!
It’s a classic. Your friends and family know you can talk the hind legs off a donkey when on a subject you know and love. But you clam up as soon as you hear the word ‘interview’. Well don’t! Necessary experience is not needed but we do look for upbeat, positive people with lots of smiles.
5. SPEAK UP!

Finally, remember that candidates are welcome to come any time within the slot shown on the email or poster. It lasts for an hour and you will meet up with the hiring manager.
