Entain has recently announced an ambitious strategy to expand its activities into broader interactive entertainment through a combination of M&A and innovation activity. As a part of this, we have recently launched our global innovation programme - Ennovate - backed by a significant investment. Ennovate will focus on developing new customer experiences and commercial models and help deliver on Entain's overall vision.

Reporting to the Chief Innovation Officer and supported by a small team, Head of Innovation Programmes will be a key member of the Innovation leadership team, with responsibility for managing internal and external programmes designed to enhance and accelerate our innovation agenda. This will encompass our global accelerator and incubator activities, as well as our internal innovation programmes. As an important subset of this activity, the role-holder will also be responsible for establishing and executing a comprehensive startup engagement strategy and ensuring effective interaction between our startup partners and the core Entain business.

In short, you will be in the thick of it as we turbocharge our mission to redefine the world of interactive gaming and entertainment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Managing all aspects of externally-facing innovation programmes including, but not limited to:
  • Calendar of activity
  • Focus areas
  • Promotional activity
  • Budgets
  • Operations/execution
  • External partnerships
  • Managing an effective internal innovation programme
  • Overseeing our global engagement activity with the startup ecosystem
  • Establishing and managing relationships with key internal stakeholders, ensuring all startup partnerships are effectively executed and adequately supported by the business
  • Establishing and managing an effective internal and external comms strategy to support the above

What we need from you:

Must have:

  • Extensive and demonstrable experience in managing successful incubator and/or accelerator programme(s);
  • Experience in managing open innovation activities;
  • Experience of leading/managing distributed team(s);
  • Exceptional communication skills;
  • Gravitas and confidence to work with (and, when necessary, constructively challenge) senior stakeholders;

Nice to have, but not essential:

  • Experience with running internal innovation programmes
  • Knowledge/experience of the entertainment space
