Entain recently announced an ambitious strategy to expand its activities into broader interactive entertainment through a combination of M&A and innovation activity. As a part of this, we have recently launched our global innovation programme - Ennovate - backed by a significant investment. Ennovate will focus on developing new customer experiences and commercial models and help deliver on Entain's overall vision.

A key pillar of the Ennovate strategy is our startup partnership programme, where we work with the world's leading startups to rapidly bring new propositions to the market, test them with real customers and, where they show promise, help to scale them globally.

Reporting to the Director of Innovation Programmes, Head of Innovation Partnerships will be a key member of the Ennovate team, with responsibility for executing our global startup engagement strategy and for ensuring effective interaction between our startup partners and the core Entain business.

In short, you will be in the thick of it as we turbocharge our mission to redefine the world of interactive gaming and entertainment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Managing all aspects of the startup partnership activity including but not limited to:
  • Market research
  • Startup identification, in line with our innovation focus areas
  • Conducing due diligence and making go/no go recommendations
  • Working with the core business to establish go-to-market model for each approved project
  • Support startup projects through pre-launch, launch and post-launch to ensure effective execution of each pilot
  • At the end of the pilot, provide recommendation for appropriate next step(s)
  • Establishing and managing relationships with key internal stakeholders, ensuring all startup engagements are effectively executed and adequately supported by the business
  • Establishing and managing an effective internal and external comms strategy to support the above, helping to position Entain as an exciting partner for leading startups
  • Identifying and managing 3rd parties who can help scale and accelerate activity above

What we need from you:

Must have:

  • Extensive and demonstrable experience in engaging, negotiating and working with startups in a corporate setting;
  • A strong network across the startup ecosystem in the UK (and ideally other key entrepreneurial hotspots)
  • Exceptional communication skills;
  • Gravitas and confidence to work with (and, when necessary, constructively challenge) senior stakeholders;

Nice to have, but not essential:

  • Experience of working within a startup
  • Knowledge/experience of the entertainment space
