Coral & Ladbrokes represent over 70% of the EBITDA for UK Digital, equating to nearly £800m NGR across sports and sports gaming.  Sports gaming is a growing segment and currently represents about 60% of each business.  The Head of Brand, Sports Gaming is a critical role to ensure each brand retains a leadership position within a highly competitive and cluttered marketplace.  The Head of Brand, Sports Gaming has responsibility for driving all aspects of the brand marketing agenda across sports gaming for both Ladbrokes and Coral.  They will work in tandem with the Head of Ladbrokes and Head of Coral to define the strategy for sports gaming under a single brand strategy for each brand. Specifically, this covers brand and creative strategy, ATL advertising and media, partnerships and social.  The role reports to the UK Brand Marketing Director, but serves as an integral part of the commercial team and should essentially be the ‘right hand’ of the Commercial Director for Gaming in relation to marketing planning and execution.  The role will work with a wide range of stakeholders from exec level down and across multiple functions e.g. compliance, legal, finance, setting the strategy and delivery of future direction for both brands.

In the role the successful candidate will: 
  • Work with the Brand Marketing Director, Head of Ladbrokes, Head of Coral and Commercial Director for Gaming, to develop and implement a comprehensive, winning strategy for the brands – ensuring their brand strategies lives through all customer touchpoints.
  • Be an active, engaged senior member of the Brand leadership team supporting the Commercial Director for Gaming with strategy, planning and implementation work as required.
  • Develop and implement marketing plans to communicate brand narratives that support the strategic and commercial goals as ‘one brand’.
  • Drive through-the-line media strategies and define appropriate brand marketing budgets (media & production) aligning spend to strategic and commercial goals.
  • Understand commercial impact of all activity and develop a test and learn program to test innovative creative, media and partnerships.
  • Ensuring alignment with the brand’s creative guidelines on an ongoing basis
  • Develop and implement innovative brand partnerships that deliver growth in terms of new and existing customer volume and value.
  • Work with PR Director to help define the PR agenda.
  • Lead cross functional teams to ensure consistency in comms and excellence in all communications throughout the customer journey.
  • Work with Brand Marketing Director to ensure that key marketing processes and WOW are well designed and in line with the latest industry best practices.
Who are we looking for? 
  • 10+ years of experience in Marketing including significant roles within top tier consumer businesses that have a strong brand marketing focus / reputation
  • Proven experience delivering growth and brand health across a range of different roles / companies
  • Proven track record developing world class advertising creative & campaigns
  • Rich expertise in all aspects of Brand Marketing i.e. advertising development, media management, creative, digital brand e.g. social
  • Experience developing and implementing brand strategies in multi-channel organisations
  • Experience managing agency relationships with top tier agencies
  • Experience managing significant budgets i.e. >£50m
  • Experience influencing / working at Exec levels across organisations
  • Proven track record recruiting and developing teams of varying levels of skill and experience
