The role in a nutshell:

The role of the KYC Business Analyst consists of reporting on all aspects of the groups KYC ("Know Your Customer") processes. This includes using SQL queries and database skills to analyse and review all existing processes related to KYC processes, and any new upcoming procedures across all markets alongside the KYC team.

KYC processes include the on boarding of new customers and the verification of their details, to comply with regulatory requirements of differing jurisdictions that we operate in. The KYC Business Analyst will be proficient in these different procedures and regulations, and their role will include creating and maintaining reporting processes for all KYC related aspects of the business.

This can include (but is not limited to) implementing new reporting procedures, creating ad hoc reports, analysing new flows and procedures for new markets launched, whilst monitoring and maintaining the tools, systems and 3rd parties used in the existing and new markets. Further responsibilities will be providing data, reporting and identifying any shortfalls in the verification pass rates, analysing the customer journey and experience whilst recommending changes or improvements. 

The successful applicant will also support any other verification and risk teams through subject matter expertise, quality reviews and general help and support for any queries.

This role is responsible for analysing and assessing the performance of the Verification function (e.g. manual processes, auto-verification rates, QA) in order to ensure processes and procedures are fit for purpose. The job holder will be proficient in creating and running data queries, and analysing the results, to identify where there are issues and where improvements can be made to processes in order to increase the verification pass rates. In addition, the role will support the Operations Manager in producing statistical reporting for the Verification function, ensuring that KPIs are accurately measured and reported against and team productivity is monitored.

The role will handle complex customer and internal escalations to ensure both the business and the customer are protected. The job holder will also need to build strong relationships with existing data based teams, customer service and the wider Risk team to ensure that new processes, updates and info are shared efficiently and effectively.

What you'll be doing:

  • Effective use of data and reporting to identify and rectify any shortfall in the verification pass rates and / or manual processing results.
  • Ownership and subject matter expert for internal tools and systems to manage the customer journey and experience
  • Review the various KYC flows to ensure all controls are met whilst having a smooth customer experience.
  • Provide daily, weekly and periodical verification statistic reports to the business.
  • Provide ad hoc data analysis to the management team – regarding all and any KYC processes, but can include also other aspects of the business (eg Risk/Fraud analysis, Payments analysis etc etc)
  • Provide data and identify opportunities to reduce the overall cost of customer verification without decreasing overall verification pass rates.
  • Recommend changes or improvements to systems and processes, ensuring they are compliant with the relevant regulations.
  • Continuously look to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of KYC processes.
  • Provide detail for team performance and error monitoring reports periodically, working with the Operations Manager.
  • Support verification and risk teams through subject matter expertise, quality reviews and general help and support for any queries.
  • Build strong working relationships across the business, team and stakeholders through communication and a collaborative approach.
  • Responsible for supporting QA & Audit of the KYC functions.
  • Providing support and fulfilling requests relating with the wider risk group including fraud and payment related items

What we need from you:

  • Proven knowledge of Data Reporting – eg Datawarehouse/Terradata processes
  • SQL abilities for reporting purposes.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of KYC practices.
  • Production of metrics/reporting to support compliance and business objectives.
  • Must be detail orientated & analytical. 
  • Ability to problem solve under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Practical application of policy directives
  • Proficient in MS Office – Word, Excel, Sharepoint and PowerPoint
  • Degree level or equivalent qualifications and/or experience
  • Flexibility, working a variety of shifts over 24/7/365
