What you'll be doing:
- Maintain SQL Server infrastructure in daily operations
- Plan and implement improvements to the infrastructure
- Working closely with Microsoft on upcoming updates, new versions and technologies (e.g. SQLServer 2022)
- Implement system automation
- Suggest possible system improvements based on daily operation experience
- Support developers during testing
- Analyse performance problems and come up with improvements
- Participate in 24x7 stand duty rotation
What we need from you:
- Practical experience in planning and running SQL Server environments (MS SQL Server 2014 or later)
- Know-how in Performance troubleshooting and tuning
- Experience in scripting technologies, especially T-SQL and Powershell
- Know How in High Availability (Regular and Distributed)
- Knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure technologies (e.g. Windows Server, ActiveDirectory, Internet Information Server, SharePoint, etc.)
- Knowledge of SQL performance analysis and tuning
- Fluent in English
Would be a Plus:
- Basic understanding of other database technologies (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, DB/2, etc.)
- Experience in software development, preferably in C#
- Experience with Monitoring tools i.e RedGate
