As part of the Strategy & Business Development Department, the Senior Strategy & Business Programme Manager is a highly varied and pivotal role within the UK Digital business across both Sports and Gaming product verticals. The role will support the implementation of new business initiatives within the Sports & Gaming Brands and the wider business – from strategy, to planning, implementation and commercial evaluation and will be a key member of the Strategy & Business Development team, you will influence, challenge and support the entire UK Digital team in the pursuit of continuous improvement.

The role will demand an individual who already has a broad skill set and is keen to further expand their skills and experience across the business in what is a strategic high impact role requiring flexibility and varied experience. The person must be comfortable with dealing with a varied, highly visible workload and has the drive and motivation as well as being able to manage the complexity and ambiguity associated with delivery of high impact strategic business critical projects.

The role will require the individual to have excellent people management, influencing skills and project leadership skills. They also must be good at crossing hierarchical and organisational boundaries in order to ensure projects are implemented. 

The role reports directly to the Head of Strategy & Business Development., but the function you lead will service the business needs of the entire UK Digital function.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the UK Digital Brands and Leadership Team in Strategic projects including marketing planning, strategy development, ways of working and capability improvements.
  • A senior figure that mentors and develops business teams by identifying individuals' strengths/weaknesses providing development & coaching and other people policies as required ensuring the team engaged within a project is motivated, productive and fully accountable
  • Plan, design and lead business change programmes and proactively monitor their progress, resolve issues and initiate appropriate corrective action
  • Apply structured methodology and lead programme & business initiative activities, applying change management processes and framework to create a strategy to support the adoption of the initiatives required
  • Design and maintain the central view of all in-market activity happening across UK Digital Brands.
  • Design, implement and lead Marketing planning process to ensure all omni channel communication plans are delivering on business objectives
  • Develop budgets and operating plans for new initiatives and manage aspects of resourcing to ensure thorough tracking and delivery
  • Direct the work of all stakeholders engaged within business projects/initiatives and leadership of the wider programme 
  • Analyse and assess known risks that could impact UK Digital Brands functions and ensure that plans are created to mitigate risk and maximise the opportunities that these projects/changes/initiatives present.
  • Produce timely and accurate reporting of programme statuses identifying data & research requirements that feed into the project objectives.
  • Coach key stakeholders across a variety of business teams to ensure thorough & transparent communication on project decisions.
  • Encourage communication and collaboration across the business, teams and stakeholders in order to build strong relationships and develop cross functional working.
  • Work with the UK Digital Leadership team and individual department Heads of to ensure programme dependencies are managed, deliver commercial benefits and record a thorough review to develop progress going forward.
  • Sharing lessons or best practice with other organisational brands and/or project managers.
  • Work closely with product, operations, legal, marketing, customer service, Public Relations, and senior stakeholders to launch new business opportunities to market and optimize business opportunities.
Specialist skills and experience:
  • A track record of having identified and executed successful change programs within multi branded, cross functional marketing, commercial & product business teams.
  • You will be an expert in aligning execution across complex business matrices.
  • With exceptional communication and influencing skills, you will have a history of successfully managing complex stakeholder relationships.
  • You will have a track record of having enabled teams and individuals to create innovative solutions to business problems.
  • Needs to be able demonstrate End to End Project Management across multiple work-streams with full financial responsibility. This must include delivery into a business function and not just pure IT delivery
  • Effective Risk and Issue identification and management
  • Acute business acumen and understanding of organisational issues/challenges.
