As a part of this, we have recently launched our global innovation programme - Ennovate - backed by a significant investment. Ennovate will focus on developing new customer experiences and commercial models and help deliver on Entain's overall vision.

Reporting to the Chief Innovation Officer, Product Director - Innovation & New Ventures will be a key member of the Innovation leadership team, with responsibility for overseeing a portfolio of innovation products as they evolve from early-stage ideas to market-ready commercial propositions.

You will be the lead product authority for all new ventures in our Ennovate innovation funnel, taking accountability for setting product specifications and overseeing the subsequent product development activity. This will entail managing internal development teams (and 3rd party resources when required), whom you will manage, support, constructively challenge and not be afraid to 'get your hands dirty' when required.

In short, you will be in the thick of it as we turbocharge our mission to redefine the world of entertainment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Signing off (and, where needed, defining) product specification across all innovation ventures, ensuring each concept has a clear underlying structure and an appropriate roadmap
  • Overseeing product development process across the portfolio and across different stages of the innovation lifecycle
  • Establishing and enforcing best-practice approaches to early-stage proposition development
  • Establishing a regular customer feedback/validation framework and ensuring it is leveraged effectively
  • Managing innovation sprint and delivery squads assigned to each project/venture, ensuring activities are delivered to the required standard, on time and within budget
  • Acting as the voice of authority on early-stage proposition development, internally and externally
  • Developing current and new team members' product-related skills
  • Establishing and managing external partnerships to enhance our innovation products and/or accelerate their development

What we need from you:

Must have:

  • Extensive and demonstrable experience in leading proposition development from raw ideas through to market-ready products;
  • Experience of concept development methodologies (eg. Design Thinking, 5-day sprints etc) and conducting brainstorming sessions;
  • Experience of leading/managing agile product team(s);
  • Exceptional communication skills;
  • Gravitas and confidence to work with (and, when necessary, constructively challenge) senior stakeholders;

Nice to have, but not essential:

  • Knowledge/experience of the entertainment space
  • Knowledge/experience of vr, ar, nft and emerging 'metaverse' platforms
