About The Role
Role Purpose:

As a Junior CMS Developer you will be responsible for managing all web and mobile products for Gala Coral Interactive and execute all web publishing tasks across all channels.

Key responsibilities

  • Performing general website updates including text and image changes, adding/editing/deleting content.
  • Scheduling and publishing pages and content according to business needs, marketing campaigns and project briefs.
  • Quality checking e.g cross browser testing, comparing design draft against final product, making sure all pages match, and all content in the correct place.
  • User testing of websites to make sure all links, images and content are correct.
  • Ensuring that sites are coded in line with best practices (including W3C etc).
  • Understanding of search engine optimization techniques ensuring that pages are optimised for on-page SEO.
  • Performing updates to Google Tag Manager to ensure all sites have the correct analytics and tracking codes in place.
  • Creating web pages to a “mobile first” methodology and ensuring all web pages display correctly across all platforms.
  • Managing and assisting with the development of all content management systems used by Gala Coral.
  • Proactively identifying and driving forward site improvements, developments and fixes.
  • Working with the Brand, Editorial, and Design teams providing development skills to help implement cutting-edge web and mobile designs.
  • Ability to effectively and clearly communicate with management and third-party suppliers, including CMS suppliers, product suppliers, SEO consultants, etc.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
  • Must possess a High School Diploma, Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate, Bachelor’s Degree, any field.
Specialist Skills and Experience Required
  • Experience in developing using modern web technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML/XHTML and CSS.
  • Ability to produce responsive web pages for mobile, tablet and desktop devices from design mockups.
  • Experience working with CMS required – experience of Liferay Portal and WordPress CMS highly advantageous.
  • Positive attitude and work ethic, passionate about the web and the ability to transfer this enthusiasm to the role with enthusiasm and self-motivation.
  • A commitment to quality and a thorough approach to work.
  • Good time management skills with the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and third party service providers.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, JSON, PHP, MySQL and XML is a plus.
  • Ability to work with high-profile, dynamic, ecommerce websites.
  • Basic knowledge of CSS3/HTML5 a big plus.
  • Passionate about sports betting and gaming beneficial.
