About The Role

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Sports Product Director , the Head of Sportsbook Product is a key leadership position responsible for managing the Ladbrokes Coral Sportsbook product. This includes all digital Sportsbook channels for the Ladbrokes & Coral brands (mobile, desktop, and, where relevant, omni-channel).

Working closely with the Sports Product Director and a highly talented team of product managers, engineers, and designers, the Head of Sports Product will define and own the product, roadmap and requirements to deliver intuitive, engaging and innovative customer experiences.

This important leadership role is responsible for managing and developing all members of the Ladbrokes Coral Sportsbook product team.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Create the market leading Sportsbook experience across the Ladbrokes and Coral brands, supporting and driving sustainable revenue growth for the business
  • Lead and deliver excellence in the Sportsbook across the areas of Product vision, team development, execution, and product culture
  • Develop an ambitious long term Product vision and strategy for the Ladbrokes Coral Sportsbook, aligned to the commercial goals of the business
  • Own the Sportsbook product roadmap and deliver innovative products and features that will grow the business
  • Champion and drive higher standards of customer experience and value to customers
  • Understand drivers of customer behaviour; identify and prioritise customer pain points to solve and growth opportunities
  • Ensure stakeholders are fully involved in key decision making and influence roadmap priorities
  • Understand potential impact of market trends and commercial performance on the roadmap
  • Manage strategic and tactical product improvements to cover both short- and long-term business requirements
  • Support development and innovation of new product areas, by acting as one of the key voices and the voice of the customer shaping the product roadmap
  • Support efficient delivery across multiple brands, optimising the product development strategy to balance common product development and brand ability to differentiate in the marketplace. The ideal scenario is to build once and deliver across all brands
  • Own every element of the Sportsbook product lifecycle, from ideation, through validation, development, launch and post-launch performance monitoring, optimisation, and retirement
  • Support the financial targets of the business by managing the investment budget, both Capex and Opex, into product initiatives
  •  Work with technology teams to understand and leverage technology to deliver outstanding and high-quality products and experiences
  • Deliver operational efficiency through product automation where possible
  • Consolidate disparate sources of data into concise insights that enable better decision making and influence the product priorities and roadmap
  •  Provide regular performance reporting and analytics on the Sportsbook product to the Digital COO, Executive Team and other key stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strong relationships and alignment with key stakeholders; Customer Services (CS), BI, Trading, Gaming, CRM, Affiliate management, Marketing and Payments
  • Ensure there is sufficient knowledge across the relevant stakeholder teams (e.g., CS, IT, BI) as well a robust infrastructure to support Sportsbook products post launch
  • Manage various 3rd party suppliers, aligning their product development goals and objectives to our own while maximising the return of all investments
  •  Ensure that partners / suppliers deliver to budget (both cost and timescale), working with Finance and the various stakeholders to seek to obtain the necessary budget and commercial agreements to support product development
 
Specialist Skills and Experience required
 
  • Significant Sportsbook industry experience
  • Good understanding of the UK&I sports betting market and customer behaviours
  • Experience of managing product teams focused in a fast-paced environment
  • A proven track record of effective leadership and performance management
  • Exceptionally strong data and financial analytical skills together with a proven track record of profit delivery
  • Can generate and translate insights into customer and commercial impact
  • Effective decision maker, uses data to drive decisions and business direction
  • Demonstrable evidence of influencing at senior levels of an organisation
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable operating in a matrix management environment, with numerous and varied stakeholders
  • Experience of implementing process improvements that have maximised business performance an advantage
