Purpose of role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Entain in a highly commercial Finance role working closely with the Head of New Opportunities to provide them and their team with strategic finance expertise and guidance  on new business opportunities covering both organic market entries and M&A.

Entain have a very ambitious M&A agenda, closing 6 deals already in 2021 with the expectation of many more in the years to come. The accountabilities will include supporting on evaluation of new business opportunities and creation of business plans, ongoing performance monitoring of executed opportunities, providing support on integrating new businesses into the group and implementing best practice where required.

Key responsibilities

  • The role will have accountability for financial planning, analysis, and reporting, understanding the risks and opportunities and supporting The Head of New Opportunities in driving longer term strategic growth initiatives and projects
  • Modelling of business plans to enable strategic and financial evaluation of new business opportunities including M&A
  • Provide Financial insight and analysis to the leadership based on historic trading trends to help drive operational and strategic decisions
  • Work with the Head of New Opportunities and Digital FD to build robust budgets and 3 year plans for the budget cycle and annual global strategic review
  • Ownership of the Finance elements of all business integration plans including identifying, formulating and reporting on delivery against synergy plans
  • Present to the leadership business plans that will drive financial results through thorough scenario modelling and business case presentation
  • Identify material risks and opportunities vs budget and 3 year plans and quantify the financial impact of them
  • Support new businesses in building out their commercial finance and performance functions and implementing best practice where its required
  • Report on how executed new business opportunities are performing against financial and operational goals identifying drivers of any material variances
  • Collaborate with the management of acquired businesses to build the KPIs that drive the performance of the business to ensure its growing and meeting targets
  • Find new value creation opportunities to drive profitable growth
  • Work with the FD’s/FP&A heads across the group to facilitate knowledge sharing and adopt best practises
 
Additional Information

Skills/Experience

  • Accounting qualification with 10 years+ post qualification experience
  • Self-starter/proactive individual with an ability to think strategically and solve problems
  • Ability to build relationships quickly and ensure Finance are seen as an enabler to the business
  • Business partnering experience in a large organization and experience of working with non-Finance colleagues
  • Track record in M&A and supporting on business integrations
  • Influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to lead and drive change
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
  • Budgetary control experience
  • Strong excel and modelling skills
  • Experience of working in a PLC environment and the compliance and governance that it requires
  • Project management skills
  • Industry experience desirable or alternatively from similar online high volume transactional businesses
  • Experience of BI Tools (e.g. Tableau & MicroStrategy)
  • Finance systems experience (e.g. Oracle ERP, Hyperian)
