About The Role

Role Purpose

The key purpose of this role is to optimise 3rd party performance in the Retail Operations and Property space across the Ladbrokes Coral Group. This will be achieved through the delivery of identified integration synergies and the creation of short/mid/long-term value optimisation strategies aligned to the objectives of the business.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Coaching the Procurement team in developing sound category strategies
  • Scoping out all historic and future Retail Operations and Property spend by suppliers and baselining historic numbers vs future saving opportunities
  • Delivery of all financial retail synergy targets against business cases
  • Creating a Property and Operations procurement strategy, ensuring commercial tension across all areas of spend and a clear roadmap of activity based on contract expiry dates and business needs
  • Understanding and ensuring the implementation of all Retail Integration benefits through both personal delivery and matrix engagement with the retail teams
  • Financial reporting of cost improvement on a P&L basis, interpreting CAPEX, OPEX, depreciation and cash flow
  • Building cutting edge knowledge of the supply base, providing value adding insights to the Property and Operations community
  • Operating agile and effective commercial processes
  • Understanding critical areas for Innovation and building a pipeline of opportunities to be shared with the supplier community to further lower Retail cost footprint
  • Identification of revenue improvement opportunities
  • Contributing and upholding the agreed values/behaviours of the team
  • Using stakeholder and supplier networks, identifying continuous improvement and step-change opportunities to improve product and service specifications
  • Ensuring robust financial reporting on a monthly basis against budgets and stretch targets
  • Ensuring contract coverage amongst the supplier base
  • Driving improvement initiatives with internal stake holders to further reduce cost base
  • This will specifically include:

  • Leading on Retail Synergy execution benefit delivery opportunities
  • Ratification of the LGC synergy benefits and review, for opportunities to over deliver or
    accelerate benefit delivery
  • Creation of a Retail Property and Operations strategy, identifying all sources of benefit
    short/mid and long term
  • Provision of strong commercial leadership on all areas of Operations and Property costs
  • Creation and buy-in of key supplier management strategy to drive improved performance
    across the supply base
  • Building strong commercial acumen in the team and stakeholders to support the delivery
    of strong commercial outcomes
  • Developing an understanding and knowledge of all industry specific procurement gold
    standards
  • Maximising contract compliance and spend 
 
Skills, attributes and experience required:
  • Graduate calibre with Bachelor’s degree in Business (or other related degree)
  • Post-graduate qualification (e.g. MSc/MBA) or a professional qualification such as MCIPS
    is desirable but not essential
  • Project Management qualification desirable but not essential
  • Technically and commercially astute
  • Exceptional commercial experience (including strategy creation, implementation and benefit delivery)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • TCO modelling to define optimal cost structures
  • Excellent people and influencing skills across all levels of the organisation
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles and category management
  • Self-motivated and can do attitude
  • Understanding of Operations and Property Services and best practice operating models
  • Ideally previous experience in Soft/ Hard FM, Utilities, Food and Beverage and Logistics
