About The Role

In this role you will be responsible for delivering a proactive and flexible HR service, providing relevant and appropriate support to employees in Malta, whilst delivering best practice and ensuring compliance with all company procedures.

You will be working closely with line managers to provide professional, timely and accurate support to their teams and ensure a fair, appropriate and consistent approach to company policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for promoting a positive working environment, supporting the business with growth and employee engagement whilst managing and minimising organisational risks.
 
The role will also be involved in delivering a variety of HR initiatives and projects, supporting corporate processes cascaded from the Group's various centers of excellence.
Additional Information
Key responsibilities
  • Define and/or deliver local and global HR initiatives in Malta, acting as an ambassador for the People & Culture function
  • Work with the MD Malta and HR to define and deliver the local employee relations / people and culture strategy in the context of the wider Entain Group's Global People Strategy. Ensure HR processes are understood by both managers and employees
  • Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to all employees in relation to absence, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organisational change and employee relations matters
  • Support managers with the effective and efficient performance management of their teams, identifying and facilitating appropriate interventions through the Group's performance management processes
  • Liaise with 3rd party payroll providers and ensure payments are made in line with legal requirements and local deadlines.
  • Ensure payroll and other required reporting is processed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Guide managers through employee relations cases in real time, intervening and steering in the appropriate direction taking account of governing policies, employment law, best practice and precedent
  • Provide professional advice and solutions in managing changes of terms and conditions of employment, ways or working and other employment changes
  • Take ownership of any projects or initiatives as directed by line managers and provide general support for work required/requested
  • Champion on-boarding and off-boarding of employees
  • Champion culture change and employee engagement within the location
  • Fully comply with relevant and applicable employment and other legislation and company policies
  • Get involved with other projects either on a local or global level, in line with the Entain's Global People Strategy.
Specialist skills and experience
 
Essential:
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar HR Specialist/Officer level position
  • Computer literacy
  • Good knowledge of Maltese labour law
  • Good knowledge of employment relations
  • Generalist HR experience within a fast-paced HR environment
  • Business acumen
  • Excellent command of English
  • Written communications skills to provide succinct correspondence, reports and employee relations documentation
  • Experience in implementing new initiatives
Desired
  • In possession of or in the final stages of obtaining an internationally recognised HR qualification/accreditation/CIPD certification (or equivalent)
  • Experience and knowledge across the full range of HR disciplines
  • Experience of managing 3rd party suppliers
  • Understanding of the iGaming sector or similar fast-paced online industry
