As a Project Manager you will be responsible for delivering a series of world-class strategic projects to our customers through excellent planning, control and communication whilst maintaining professional relationships with all project stakeholders. Often, these projects occur within a rapid and agile delivery environment so an affinity for agile methodologies, processes, tools and artefacts is essential.

Reporting to the Head of Affordability you are expected to be proactively working with the rest of the business to drive projects through to completion to timescale and budget.

What you will be doing:
 
Gain agreement of and socialise the project’s vision and objectives
Define and establish the cross-functional team required to support the delivery of a project 
Define and establish appropriate governance for the project, ensuring key stakeholders are appropriately engaged and the programme has the right level of oversight and decision-making
Develop and maintain accurate project plans and exception plans; ensuring consistent application of project planning standards
Work closely with other project teams and 3rd party suppliers in the delivery of projects ensuring a relentless focus on quality, execution and achievement 
Authority and responsibility for effectively and efficiently running projects, delivering them from inception to closure 
Implementation of robust change control against baselined scope, milestones, outcomes and benefits
Champion and drive quality standards to improve successful first-time product acceptance
Identify, plan for and manage to resolution project risks, issues and dependencies, including timely escalation in an appropriate manner and contingency planning when required
Regularly and transparently communicate project statuses, including key risks, issues, actions and dependencies to project stakeholders in line with agreed timelines and standards. Establish the status reporting mechanisms necessary to support accurate and timely information updates
Responsible for communicating major project decisions taken- both upwards to senior management and downwards to affected teams (observing relevant confidentiality considerations where applicable)
Responsible for preparing and owning a project’s benefits realisation plan and ensuring an effective handover of benefit realisation into BAU once the project team disbands
Facilitate the capturing of requirements by collaborating with business analysts and product teams to support the definition of business and technology specifications 
Where applicable, work closely with the web and mobile development team and service delivery team to ensure quality, effective and timely delivery of services
Define, schedule and execute formal review meetings, securing sign-offs and approvals where necessary
Responsible for promulgating a culture of a continuous improvement by working with the team to co-create, embed and continuously improve good practice methodologies, processes and ways of working, facilitating Post Implementation Review (PIR) sessions, contributing to a team Lessons Learned repository and offering support to peers 
Develop relationships with the Executive and business unit leaders – building a reputation as ‘trusted advisor’ and thought partner in the conception and leadership of initiatives
 
What we need from you:
 
Experience with Project Management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, MS Excel
Experience managing IT Projects spanning across multiple environments within the platform, to include: Networking, Linux, Windows and Virtualisation
Demonstrable ability to be innovative in the scoping, definition, management and implementation of products
Substantial experience of working within both Agile & Waterfall project management methodologies and associated tools and techniques such as: PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, Scrum or Kanban
Online experience essential, ideally gained within the online gaming industry providing the ability to provide content advice and support as well as generic discipline support
Competence in managing resources in a matrixed, multidisciplinary, globally-dispersed environment 
Experience of managing third party suppliers
Proficient user of video and telephone conferencing technologies
Experience of managing projects within a highly changeable business where active prioritisation is required at all times
Comfortable in working with ambiguity
Experience of Data Centre migrations, technology re-platforming or technology upgrade projects
Detail focused but able to see the “big picture” and maintain progress
Significant experience of release management and the software development lifecycle
Experience of planning to a minimum 2 year time horizon
Excellent presentation, facilitation and influencing skills
Able to motivate at all levels
High levels of resilience and tenacity
Experience in balancing & managing multiple internal ‘customers’ at a senior level (Credible and influential at Executive level) in the development and execution of complex projects.
Demonstrated strong performance in prior roles, with increasing levels of responsibility and independence; demonstrated ability to lead complex operational and strategic initiatives 
Be able to produce documents to a high standard using Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Strong oral and written communication skills which delivers messages clearly and confidently at all levels
A team player who shows respect and values the views of others
Flexible approach – equally comfortable managing top level activity and also getting involved operationally to make things happen
Strategic problem-solving skills
Demonstrable ability to manage multiple projects at once
Track record of tangible financial and non-financial results
Commerciality – working knowledge of business finance to support a project’s impact on the business P&L, including knowledge of terminology, measures, etc
