About The Role

Role Purpose

As a BI Analyst you will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of insights, dashboards, analytical tools and presentations to organisational stake holders and to business leaders across the digital business. 

You will become an expert in the company’s chosen reporting, analytics and data visualisation tools, whilst providing an excellent service to the customers across the business.

Reporting to the Head of Reporting and Dashboards you are expected to proactively work with the rest of the Analytics, BI, Product, Marketing and Finance teams to support and enable them to meet their KPIs and other deliverables. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive analytical projects though to delivery and embed them within the organisation
  • Create commercial value through insightful analysis
  • Support business leaders and teams to meet their analytical need and support ad-hoc requests
  • Work effectively with business counterparts to conceive, specify, pilot and implement analytical applications and tools
  • Work with Analysts and BI Developers to operationalize and fully automate accepted pieces of analysis
  • Use abstract thinking and problem-solving skills to identify business opportunities and pinpoint problems
  • Build and deliver new reports as requested by business stakeholders
  • Ensure high standards of data quality and output
  • Create new measures and dimensions within the data as needed to solve the problem at hand
  • Identify new ways of presenting data and propose ideas for the adoption thereof
  • Develop reports using Power BI and other reporting and visualisation tools to be distributed to the wider business, for example Financial KPI reports to be reviewed by the Executive team
  • Answer business questions using data and analytic techniques, providing fact-based responses
  • Ensure all data is mapped correctly for KPI and analytic reporting purposes and that this is in line with the business operational approach
  • Encourage communication and collaboration across the business, team and stakeholders in order to build strong relationships and develop cross functional working
  • Educate business users and leaders on how to use the tools / software provided for self-serve access to data and reporting
  • Assist in the definition of all metrics, attributes and KPIs across the business
  • Keep in touch with new trends and BI software solutions that could be used to improve our BI service
Skills and Experience
  • Good understanding of business processes within online gaming and sports betting an advantage
  • Strong presentation skills; able to simplify and articulate complex domain areas confidently to senior stakeholders
  • Experience of problem solving under pressure, with the ability to prioritise
  • Capability to interpret data and drive business conclusions
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with experience creating clear, concise and professional documents
  • Articulate and confident when presenting the output of your work
  • Fluent written and spoken English essential
  • Experience working within a BI or data warehousing environment
  • Advanced SQL skills (Microsoft SQL Server)
  • Knowledge and experience with a modern Data Visualisation tool (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, QlikSense or similar),
  • Power BI experience an advantage
  • Has or is keen to gain understanding of Data Visualisation best practices
  • Knowledge of MDX and DAX query languages an advantage
  • Experience with Google BigQuery an advantage
  • Strong understanding and experience working with transactional data sets as well as data sets such as site and click stream analytics with billions of data records
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Ability to work well in a team as well as independently

  • BSc (or equivalent) in the field of Business / IT, or a related subject
