The role in a nutshell:

You will be responsible for further development of the central web frontend framework (Angular SPA) used for all the customer-facing websites of bwin and the Entain group. By being actively involved from getting requirements over crafting solutions to implementation and production rollout, you will shape the web-based architecture and ensure a highly scalable, robust and reliable application landscape. You will support other teams across the globe directly or indirectly, by providing tools and assets that will make their professional life easier and contribute to the overall success of our company.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Designs and develops high quality software solutions based on business requirements
  • Defines non-functional requirements and ensures implementation according to it
  • Ensures operational readiness of applications
  • Discusses, understands and refines business requirements together with business peers
  • Supports and consults business on technical topics
  • Coaches, guides Junior Software Developers
  • Shares/spreads knowledge within and across teams
  • Does peer-reviews, ensures internal software quality
  • Drives/supports process improvements
  • Finds the best trade of costs & clean software design

What we need from you:

  • Solid technical education and at least 3-5 years of professional experience in the area of web software development
  • Experienced in developing software in required language (Angular, .NET c#) to meet the given requirements
  • Experienced in the SOA area (web services and similar technologies – REST, PUSH, WSDL, SOAP)
  • Analysis, specification and validation of requirements for software
  • Understands the different type of requirements (customer, functional, performance, design, derived and allocated requirements)
  • Knows how to design software under consideration of key aspects (like scalability, performance, maintainability, reliability, reusability, security, usability, etc.)
  • Understands design patterns and knows how and when to use them
  • Knows how to write maintainable (commented), efficient/performant (memory, etc.), reliable (proper exception handling, etc.) and robust (clear interfaces and no runtime errors) code
  • Knows how to create white box tests (unit tests incl. mocking) and ensure required code coverage
  • Understands the metrics of software (e.g. Cyclomatic complexity, code coverage, etc.) and know how to analyse (e.g. Ndepend, Fortify, FXCop) and optimize/refactor code
  • Solid understanding about source control with Git/Gitlab and version management
  • Understands the Scrum/Agile development processes
Desired:
  • Knowledge about performance-aspects of web applications
  • Previous experience working in a large-scale and fast paced environment
  • Experienced with migrating to .NET core
  • Good knowledge about SQL and SQL Server including Data Access technologies (ado.net) as a nice to have
  • Experienced with TeamCity and the build-pipeline
  • Experienced with ELK (Kibana), AppDynamics
  • Awareness of online gambling line of business (big picture - market knowledge, inter-department knowledge, risk awareness)
